Project Overview
A large private subdivision located south of Wilmington partnered with our team for one phase of a multi-year roadway sealcoating project designed to preserve pavement conditions and extend the life of the community’s roads. Completed in 2021, this phase included approximately 8 miles of residential streets throughout the neighborhood.
Project Challenge
Because the project took place in an active residential community, maintaining safe and consistent traffic access for homeowners throughout construction was a top priority. The team also needed to coordinate closely with the homeowner’s association while managing cure times and minimizing disruptions for residents.
Scope of Work
To keep traffic moving efficiently during the project, our team implemented a phased multi-day sealcoating approach throughout the subdivision. Work included:
- Sealcoating approximately 8 miles of residential roadways
- Completing work one half of the road at a time
- Maintaining traffic access on open roadway sections
- Coordinating curing periods before reopening sealed lanes
- Communicating with the homeowner’s association throughout the project
Project Outcome
The phased approach allowed residents to maintain access throughout construction while successfully completing roadway preservation improvements across the subdivision. The newly sealcoated roads improved pavement protection, appearance, and long-term durability for the community.
