We were able to showcase our total in-house capabilities as a self-performing, full-service contractor on this large condo-style HOA in the Carolina Forest area of Myrtle Beach. With such a significant investment to repave the entire parking lot, we advised the client to take the necessary steps to ensure their investment would last. After conducting core reports and a stormwater assessment of the community’s underground utility system, our team identified multiple areas requiring excavation and stormwater pipe replacement and spot repairs of existing utilities showing damage. While it can be time intensive, proper planning prevents sinkholes and prematurely damaged asphalt. Once stormwater repairs were complete, our concrete crew arrived to repair curbing and sidewalk throughout the community and install 45 (!) ADA-compliant accessibility ramps, removing the existing asphalt ramps that jutted out into the parking areas. Finally, we spent three weeks repaving the entire community in two lifts for a 3” parking lot. This project was completed in the Fall when there was slightly less traffic throughout the HOA. The result – a safe, easily-accessible and beautiful community for residents to enjoy.
