Water and time are two enemies of your driveway and will continue to cause major issues. Small cracks occur when water, inevitably, makes its way into small voids. After being left unattended eventually the driveway’s foundation or subgrade is destroyed causing them to become bigger problems known as potholes. The water expands and freezes in winter causing severe damage both visible and hidden to portions of the pavement. As your driveway erodes, so does the supporting ground and base beneath it. At this point repairs are often senseless. The slope and drainage pattern of the problem area often make a tear-out, grading, and then replacing the driveway the practical course of action.
